Orang Pi Lite 2
Root and Gapps

Today has a new Android released "OrangePi_Lite2_Android_7.0_en_gapps_v1.3.img.tar.gz", but I keep getting problem after root, Play store stop working... so stay with old image for now.

Used Apps:

  • Magisk for root, downloaded here
  • Gapps installer from here (Chinese)
  • Google play service repair from here (Chinese)


  • Burn this image OrangePi_Lite2_Android_EN_V1.0.img.tar.gz with PhoenixCard v4
  • Boot your Orange Pi Lite 2 with the card
  • Turn on Settings -> Developer options -> USB0 device mode enable
  • Connect to computer with otg
  • Type "adb install path_of_magisk.apk" to install Magisk
  • Type "adb shell" get in the android
  • Type "dd if=/dev/block/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img" to dump boot.img for Magisk
  • Type "exit" to get out of shell
  • Type "adb pull /sdcard/boot.img /path_to_store_boot_img" to copy boot.img out
  • Now put boot.img into USB stick and stick on your board
  • Open Magisk and click "Install" and select "INSTALL" then select "Patch Boot Image File"
  • Choose the boot.img from USB then wait until it shows done
  • Now close Magisk and type in computer "adb shell" to get in shell mode again
  • Type "dd if=/sdcard/MagiskManager/patched_boot.img of=/dev/block/by-name/boot" to write the boot.img back
  • Type "exit" once finished
  • Type "adb reboot" to reboot your board
  • Now it's rooted


  • Install Gapps with this app
  • Reboot
  • Repair once with FC repair app
  • Now you can login play store and all done
